RCDC to Assume Responsibility for the NDSE
The June 2023 National Dental Specialty Examination (NDSE) was the last NDSE to be administered by the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB).
Over the last year, the NDEB has been working closely with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) to transition the NDSE back under the RCDC umbrella.
The 2023 NDSE will be graded by the NDEB, and results released to candidates through their NDEBConnect account.
Successful candidates who have provided the required documents will receive their NDEB NDSE certification and be added to the NDEB National Register. Candidates who are unsuccessful will be able to submit rescore and regrade requests through their NDEBConnect accounts.
The NDEB and RCDC have been collaborating to ensure a smooth transition and positive exam experience for candidates in 2024. The RCDC will be launching a website solely dedicated to the NDSE. In October 2023, this website will contain the examination protocols, eligibility requirements, examination fees, application process, and other relevant information. In addition, the RCDC plans to hold virtual information sessions in July and October to provide additional information about the 2024 examination.
Inquiries regarding the 2024 NDSE should be directed to ndse@rcdc.ca.
