AFK Registration Opens Tomorrow!
Registration for the February 2026 Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge (AFK) opens September 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (ET).
The AFK is the first exam in the Equivalency Process for individuals who received their dental education from international non-accredited institutions. It tests biomedical science and applied clinical science knowledge that is necessary for the practice of dentistry in Canada. Successfully completing the AFK is the first step for graduates of international non-accredited dental programs on their journey toward certification and licensure in Canada.
Only candidates with approved applications are eligible to register for the AFK. Since application review times can vary, we strongly encourage you to submit your application as early as possible to avoid delays. An early submission is the best way to confirm your eligibility by the time registration opens.
