NDEB welcomes new Public Representative
Ms. Jan Sheppard Kutcher of Herring Cove, NS has recently been elected to join the NDEB Board as the Public Representative for a three-year term, ending November 2022. Ms. Sheppard Kutcher will be replacing Public Representative Ms. Polly Pachu from Manitoba, who completed her three-year term this November.
Ms. Sheppard Kutcher had served as co-chair to the Internationally Educated Dental Professional (IEDP) Working Group at the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia until her retirement this past year. The IEDP assist internationally educated dentists (IEDs) navigate their way to licensure through varied initiatives.
As per Dr. Martin Gillis, Registrar for the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia, Jan as co-chair was instrumental in her solution-oriented and strategic thinking approach for the development and sustainability of IEDP projects. IEDs were so very fortunate to have such a committed, caring and generous individual support their goal which is reflective of the successes IEDs have experienced in gaining licensure in Nova Scotia.
The NDEB Public Representative acts as an official observer on the Board and is also a voting member of the Examinations Committee.
