Oral Health, more than just a beautiful smile

April is national oral health month and theres no better time to highlight the importance of proper dental care on our overall health. Some of the most common illnesses affecting Canadians and those worldwide, such as oral diseases from tooth decay to gum disease and oral cancer are, for the most part, preventable. Chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke can also be linked to poor dental health.

This month, lets remember the importance of good oral healthcare habits such as daily brushing and flossing and how regular visits to a dental professional can help maintain proper dental and overall health, including early detection of underlying issues.

Check out the Canadian Dental Associations steps to good oral health.
