La chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale est une discipline et spécialité de la médecine dentaire qui se consacre au diagnostic et aux traitements chirurgicaux et d’appoint des troubles, maladies, traumatismes et anomalies touchant les aspects fonctionnels et esthétiques des tissus durs et mous des régions buccales et maxillo-faciales et de leurs structures connexes.

Contenu

L'ENSD en chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale a pour but d’évaluer les connaissances théoriques et cliniques d’un dentiste spécialiste en chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale. Les spécialistes en chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale canadiens doivent posséder de vastes connaissances et habiletés dans dix domaines de la chirurgie buccale et maxillo-faciale. Vous trouverez le plan directeur dans le protocole d'examen.

Format

L’examen comprend deux parties de trois heures chacune et de même poids. Le format de l’examen consiste en un mélange de questions à choix multiples et de questions indépendantes à réponses brèves ou longues qui évaluent les connaissances générales et leur application et des questions basées sur des cas qui évaluent les aptitudes à faire des diagnostics et prendre des décisions cliniques.
