Since its implementation in the fall of 2022, there has been an extraordinary number of candidates looking to access a seat for the NDECC. This is a result of multiple circumstances. The COVID pandemic severely diminished the number of candidates who could sit the ACS, and increased capacity and higher pass rates in the 2023 ACJ have resulted in considerably longer wait times for NDECC seats.<\/p>\n
We are actively working on ways to reduce the amount of time needed for candidates to proceed through the Equivalency Process. We are revising procedures, reviewing policies, and increasing test capacity where possible.<\/p>\n
Over the last year, candidates have provided many suggestions on how we can better achieve this goal. We have listened to those suggestions and are now implementing changes to the NDECC registration process. Starting with the next NDECC registration, we will be prioritizing candidates for NDECC seats based on when they complete the ACJ.<\/p>\n
We are rolling out this process gradually to provide access to candidates who are already eligible for the NDECC and have not been able to register for the exam. When fully implemented, this change should decrease the time it takes candidates to access the NDECC exam after successful completion of the ACJ while still allowing other eligible NDECC candidates to register when registration opens on the posted dates.<\/p>\n
