Provincial Licensure<\/p><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1613764520753{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1782239156893{padding-bottom: 37px !important;}”]In Canada, accreditation is determined by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC). A dental program that is not recognized by the CDAC is considered to be non-accredited. The NDEB defines a non-accredited dental program as an undergraduate dental program offered by a university dental institution that is authorized by the government of the country in which it is located to award such degrees but has not been accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada or recognized by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada pursuant to a mutual recognition agreement<\/p>\n

Individuals who hold a DDS\/DMD\/BDS from a non-accredited program must follow one of three pathways:[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1619638730658{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}” el_class=”boxed”]<\/p>\n

The NDEB Equivalency Process<\/h2>\n

The NDEB Equivalency Process includes three examinations. Option 2<\/p>\n

An accredited Qualifying\/Degree Completion Program<\/h2>\n

Accredited Qualifying and Degree Completion Programs are offered by Faculties of Dentistry in Canada. These programs are designed to familiarize international graduates to dentistry and dental practice in Canada. Upon successful completion of a Qualifying or Degree Completion Program, individuals are eligible to participate in the NDEB Certification Process.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1788272426597{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}” el_class=”boxed”]<\/p>\n

Option 3<\/p>\n

BTDPC Program<\/h2>\n

The BTDPC<\/a> is for graduates of non-accredited dental programs who have started the Equivalency Process to obtain licensure as a general dentist in Canada and have yet to pass the NDECC.<\/p>\n

Successful completion of an accredited BTDPC makes a person eligible to apply the NDEB Certification Process.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Registration as a dentist in New Zealand<\/h3>\n

The NDEB and the New Zealand Dental Council have an agreement that enables participants who have successfully completed the NDEB Equivalency Process to apply for licensure as a dentist in New Zealand.<\/p>\n
